About Our School

Hermon Middle School, in partnership with parents and the community, seeks to instill in all students, high standards for academic scholarship, integrity, leadership, and responsibility.

Hermon Middle School is part of the Hermon School System. There are three schools in the system, Hermon Elementary which houses grades K-4, Hermon Middle School for grades 5-8, and Hermon High School for grades 9-12.

There are approx. 300 students here at HMS. Education is strengthened when there is a partnership between parents, the community and the school. The priority must be to facilitate the development of each child’s potential: mentally, physically; and socially. To help the student meet this objective, there needs to be an emphasis on the basic skills and an expectation of high achievement. Communication skills, oral written and listening, are crucial. In addition, the curriculum must include independent thinking skills. Finally, there must be an atmosphere which encourages a positive self-concept and an understanding and acceptance of others.
